Priya Prakash Varrier’s ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ is in Trouble – The Boney Kapoor Slaps a Legal Notice

The “wink girl” Priya Prakash Varrier is making her Bollywood debut with the film “Sridevi Bungalow” directed by Prasanth Mampully. The official trailer of the movie has been released and is receiving a lot of negative comments since the trailer showed the death of the lead character, actress Sridevi(played by Priya Prakash) in the bathtub, which is similar to the accidental death by drowning in the bathtub of late actress Sridevi.

Therefore, husband of the late actress Boney Kapoor has slammed a legal notice against the director and filmmakers for insensitively depicting the death scene similar to the former actress Sridevi. Since the film has the name of the late actress in the title, the film is rumored to be based on the real-life events of late actress Sridevi. The film revolves around a successful actress, Sridevi who has achieved name and fame throughout her film career. However, she is left alone and since experiencing depression and in those situations, the accidental death of her happens as she is found drowned in the bathtub. Therefore, the fans of the veteran actress Sridevi has been twitting negative replies since the trailer release.

However, in these extremely tensed situations, the director has denied of depicting the real-life events of the late actress and has acknowledged receiving a legal notice filed by Boney Kapoor. He has also stated that “We received a legal notice from Mr. Boney Kapoor last week and we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him that Sridevi is a common name. My character also happens to be an actress. We will face it.” When asked for any relevance of her character with Sridevi, the lead actress in the film, Priya has denied to make any further comment regarding it and asked to watch the movie and decide whether there is any connection or not. It is to note that the shooting is still going on in London.
