The entire world has come to a screeching halt due to the coronavirus outbreak. With the lockdown of 21 days announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, salaried people have got broke and are facing issues. As the country enters the 14th day of the nationwide lockdown, a group of Bollywood celebrities, namely Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Rajnikanth, Diljit Dosanjh, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Chiranjeevi, and many others came together to create an awareness regarding novel coronavirus through a short film titled Family.

The short film provides importance regarding the prevention of COVID-19. It is meant to stress on staying at home, staying safe, working from home, maintaining social distance, regularly washing hands, and maintaining hygiene. The short film is conceptualized and virtually directed by Prasoon Pandey by collaborating with Bollywood’s Big B. It is premiered across the TV on Sony Network on Monday at 9:00 PM.

Family short film provides lock-down woes to the workers and earners of the film industry.

The film industry is reportedly staring at a loss of Rs 800-1000 crore due to the nationwide lockdown of 21 days, which is imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19. Due to the halt in the production of films and the shoots, directors, actors, and the workers in the Bollywood industry have no work. A particular clan that is the worst hit due to the crisis is the workers and daily wagers. Amitabh Bachchan takes the initiative called We Are One, which is supported by Sony Pictures Networks India and Kalyan Jewellers through which the monthly income of 1 lac households would be funded across the country.

Bachchan, at the end of the film, said that the Indian film industry is one, and all of them together are one family. He added, meaning that there is a more prominent family that works for them, and those are the workers and daily wage earners. They are the ones who are the most affected due to the lockdown. He says that the fund collected by the release of the short film would be distributed to every worker and wager. Like-minded celebrities have come together for a good cause.
