Remakes are common in Bollywood these days. Whether it is of Tamil, Telugu or even Korean movies. The makers are always eager to portray the content of different places by adding a flavour of bit Bollywood in it. Laxmi Bomb featuring Akshay Kumar is a hindi remake of 2011 Tamil movie Muni 2: Kanchana. It is an upcoming 2020 horror comedy film, Akshay Kumar playing the lead role along with Kiara Advani and R. Madhavan and is all set to hit the theatres in June 2020, it is directed by Raghava Lawrence, produced by Shabina Khan and Tusshar Kapoor and written by Farhad Samji. The film deals with a ghost seeking retribution for being wronged and haunts everyone who is staying in the house.

Raghava Lawrence took to Twitter last Saturday to announce that he will be stepping down as director for the Laxmi Bomb. Lawrence tweeted that he will not be part of Hind remake of Kollywood hit Kanchana because he was disrespected and disappointed by the team. Kanchana, a horror comedy which was released in 2011 was a sequel to Muni and represents the tale of a ghost-fearing man who gets possessed. Lawrence had written, produced and directed the original, in the Hindi remake his role was limited to the direction. The film’s first look poster was released last Saturday and he proved to be the last straw for Lawrence, who announced his decision to quit as director.

The makers last Monday also divulged the first look of the poster that shows Saif’s face, complete with kohled eyes, ash and a big ’tilak’ on his forehead.
The poster of the movie seems intriguing and promises that the film will be a visual treat.
