Femina Miss India 2019 was announced on 15th June, Saturday with a grand finale declaring Suman Rao as Miss India 2019, the successor of Anukreethy Vas from Tamil Nadu who was Miss India 2018. Miss India Rajasthan, Suman Rao was crowned the winner of FBB Colors Femina Miss India 2019 during the finale of beauty pageant which was held on Saturday at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai. Shivani Jadhav from Chattisgarh being the runners up was crowned Femina Miss Grand India 2019 and Shreya Shankar from Bihar who stood at the position of second runners up was crowned Miss India United Continents 2019 title. Suman Rao, the winner of 56th Miss India belongs to Rajasthan area. She was born on November 23, 1999, in Rajsamand, Rajasthan but the 20-year-old is majorly brought up in Mumbai. Suman finished her schooling from Mahatma Education Society, Navi Mumbai and is currently pursuing a Chartered Accountancy course along with a bachelor’s degree, B.com from New Delhi. Her love for modeling goes out of the world but besides her passion, she also loves to dance and has an exceptional inclination towards the classical dance form Kathak. She is trained in Kathak dance and has high aspirations towards her career in the modeling field.

Suman represented Rajasthan on the stage of Femina Miss India 2019 and besides winning the title of Miss India 2019, she also won the Miss Rampwalk award in the sub-contests of Miss India 2019. Suman Rao will now represent India at the Miss World 2019 pageant which will be hosted on December 7, 2019, in Pattaya, Bangkok.

The event was hosted by the popular director and producer Karan Johar and the actor Manish Paul. The panel of judges of Femina Miss India 2019 included Miss World 2018, Vanessa Ponce Del, Indian designers mainly Shane Peacock and Falguni, sprinter Dutee Chand, footballer Sunil Chhetri, choreographer Remo Dsouza, and actors like Aayush Sharma, Chintrangda, and Huma Qureshi. The event included grand performances by renowned Bollywood stars like Katrina Kaif, Uri actor Vicky Kaushal, Nora Fatehi and Mouni Roy.
