During the tough times of India, where the spread of novel coronavirus is swift, and people around the world are panicking, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced about the PM Cares fund. The fund collected by the ministry is for the people who are suffering to earn during the lockdown days and need money to survive. Since the announcement of the fund, many Bollywood actors came forward to donate a part of their wealth in the Cares fund. The contribution was of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra Nick Jonas, and many others who joined their hands to fight against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Amongst all, the donation of Akshay Kumar of Rs 25 crores made a huge buzz in the media.
While everyone was praising and appreciating Akshay Kumar for his donation, Shatrughan Sinha was not happy with the revelation. Akshay Kumar first donated Rs 25 crores in the PM Cares fund and later on contributed three crores to BMC. As per the perception of Shatrughan Sinha, the revelation of the donation amount was something that he got offended by and said that revealing the amount by the actors was not necessary, which will lead to a competition.
This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai. 🙏🏻 https://t.co/dKbxiLXFLS

Shatrughan Sinha, in an interview, digs at Akshay Kumar for the revelation of his donation.
In an interview, Shatrughan Sinha digs at the Sooryavanshi actor, Akshay Kumar saying that it is offensive and demoralizing that someone has contributed a considerable amount to the fund and has revealed the amount to the media. He added, saying that the public out there would judge someone’s volume of concern by donating for such a cause with the amount of money he/she gives. He also said that charitable affairs are private, and in no part of the world, will anyone flaunt their donation.
Sinha also slammed the film industry’s members by calling it a competition. He said that when he hears someone donating Rs. 25 crores for some cause, he calls it a competition between celebrities like a competition in schools. Shatrughan did not mention Akshay Kumar’s name, but it was quite evident that the interview was directed to him. Many celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, have been questioned earlier regarding the same. There are celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Rajkumar Rao, and Sara Ali Khan, who did not reveal the amount they donated.
